Preen by Thornton Bregazzi AW19 at LFW

For AW19 Preen by Thornton Bregazzi began with the history of dance in the British Isles
and became truly inspired by the way communities gathered for this reason alone and used dance as a form of release and joy, whilst connecting with one another

This made Preen by Thornton Bregazzi think about their youth and how they used to love the Hacienda nightclub, coming together as a modern family and dancing to the mutual love of music. Fabrications this season consist of Irish and Welsh traditional woven textiles, tartans and tapestry jacquards. Ruffles of lace, inspired directly from the Welsh textile weaver’s aprons are embroidered onto dresses in harlequin, whilst graphic glitter chevron knits reference the Hacienda interior.

Tailored suits layered with rosettes, nod to the Morris Dancers of England whereas scooped necklines and ruffle hemmed mini dresses draw on Inspiration from Irish dancing costumes. Florals are modernised with electric glitter prints, natural treebank pleating.  Earth tones run through the colour palette of this collection, grounding the vibrancy of electric blue, scarlet red and jet black.
